Hello everyone! Today was a very busy Friday. Here are the things we did. Starting in Mrs. Truby's classroom.
First, we came in the room and turned in homework and worked on a morning worksheet that we can normally expect to find on our desk. That's why it's called a morning worksheet! We had to turn in our final draft of a story we had been writing called Turkey for Dinner (although you could change the title if you wanted to.)
Then after the class got settled, a kid from another 5th grade class did announcements, the Pledge of Allegiance, and then the class and I started working on the morning worksheet. The worksheet gave us a really long paragraph, and we had to find at least 40 of 50 action verbs. I thought this was hard. After a while Mrs. Truby noticed that most of the class was struggling with this also, so she decided to go over it with us. We worked on it for about a half an hour total.
At 9:10 we had a class meeting. The meeting was about respect. Mrs. Truby talked about how it is important to treat others kindly and with respect. Soon, we tried to think of ideas about how to treat people (including Mrs. Truby) more nicely. Then, after this long meeting, Mrs. Truby let us go out to recess.
After recess we went straight to P.E. We worked more on our physical fitness test. After that we had just enough time to play a quick game of Yarn Ball Tag (this is a game that is like dodge ball, only you use balls called fleece-balls.) We played boys vs girls. It was fun. The time we had went by pretty quickly though.
Once again we were in a hurry. This time from P.E. to Computer class. In computer, we copied a recipe our teacher, Mrs. Edwards, gave us. After we copied it, we were able to decorate it with a cool border and other things around the recipe. After we were done, we saved it to our flash drive and then began practicing typing on a computer program.
When computer was over, it was time to get ready for lunch. Our class won a pizza party from a fifth grade fund raiser, so we got to have pizza. Instead of going downstairs in the cafeteria to eat we stayed upstairs on the fifth-grade floor to eat.
After lunch, we were able to go downstairs for recess. When recess was over it was time for band and study hall. I am in study hall. For a half an hour I just caught up on my work while the others were at band. Usually during study hall depending on which day it is different 5th grade teachers will have study hall in their classrooms. Today was Mrs. Truby's turn.
Once band came back we went directly to Spanish. Unfortunately, some of the kids weren't acting very good so our class came back to our classroom. We had another talk about how important it is to be respectful. It definitely wasn't the most exciting part of the day.
At 2:30 we got packed to leave, but since it wasn't 3:20 yet, we read some of the book we had been reading called Surviving theApplewhites. After reading about a chapter Mrs.Truby said smiling, "time to go!"
After she said this, we all packed up and got ready to go home. This was our busy Friday!
